Adobe ID
To use Digital Editions you need to
have a FREE Adobe ID. Its quick to setup and gives you
special benefits. Click

Authorising your
computer and your eBook
During your Digital
Edition installations you will have to enter your Adobe ID.
To authorise your computer please click Library>Authorise
Computer.
To authorise your eBook plug the USB cable
into the USB port in your computer and your eBook. Your
eBook will ask you to authorise the USB connection so press
'OK' on the keyboard or using the touchscreen if you have
the 511tEB. Windows will automatically install the eBook as
a plug and play device. Once installed Digital Editions will
automatically recognise the eBook is attached and ask you to
authorise it. Follow the onscreen instructions.
You
eBook will now show up as a new Bookshelf in your digital
editions Library.
NOTE: You can authorise up to 6
devices using your Adobe ID.
How to download
an eBook?
Once you have successfully purchased your eBook on
Waterstones.com you will be taken to the order confirmation
page where you can download your eBook by clicking on the
'Download' icon. Your eBook will be automatically saved in
your newly created 'My Digital Editions' folder located in
'My Documents'.
If a box appears on screen asking if
you want to open the eBook or save it - select the 'Open'
option. The eBook download will now begin and will be saved
automatically on to your computer into the My Documents>My
Digital Editions folder. A box
will appear on screen called Device Setup Assistant if you
have not yet authorised your Reader. Please now authorise
your eBook Reader by clicking 'Authorise Device'.
Purchased eBooks can be found
in the 'My Account' section of Waterstones.com. If you are
unsuccessful in downloading your eBook, you have access to
download the eBook a further two times (three times max). If
after three attempts you are still unable to download an
eBook, please contact Waterstones customer services
here.
How do I transfer eBooks
onto my eBook Reader using Adobe Digital Editions?
To transfer an eBook to your eBook reader find the
eBook in Digital Editions in your Purchased Bookshelf,
Borrowed Bookshelf or in All Items. Then simply drag the
book's icon from the right window and drop it onto the eBook
symbol in the Bookshelves list. The file will take a few
seconds to transfer depending on its size. Thats it!
NOTE; You should transfer each eBook individually to the
eBook and not multiple eBooks at the same time.
Reading eBooks.
To unplug your eBook from your computer you should
always use the 'Safely remove Hardware and Eject Media' tool
from the system tray at the bottom right of the screen. When
you unplug your eBook it will open the main menu screen.
Select option '2 Bookcase' then 'Digital Editions' to find
your eBook collection.
